Blood cancer charity Anthony Nolan has recruited Danny Attias as its CIO. Attias joins the organisation following over eight years with Grass Roots Group an employee benefits professional services provider.
Attias joins Anthony Nolan to lead its digital technology strategy and the technology based change programmes.
At Grass Roots Group Attias was an innovation leader and an early adopter of the Google platform of applications across the business. The CIO also led a number of major infrastructure projects. Attias, a keen triathlete, has been considering the charitable sector as part of his next career move.
Attias has rich retail experience, having worked at department store giants Marks and Spencer as well as the John Lewis Partnership in infrastructure and and project management roles. He began his career as a chemical engineer at Kodak, the camera and photographic film manufacturer now famed within innovation leadership circles as an example of failing to capitalise on innovation.
UK blood cancer charity Anthony Nolan recruits donors to the Anthony Nolan register and is aligned to the National Blood Service and the NHS Stem Cell Registry. The charity specialises in leukaemia. Anthony Nolan carries out research to make bone marrow transplantation more effective.
