Israel was dubbed the Startup Nation in 2009 by author Saul Singer. Tech firms have been at the forefront of Israel’s development as a nation of startups. Amongst the digital leaders to herald from Israel are Wix the website rival to WordPress, road traffic site Waze and Uber rival Gett. For European CIOs curious to engage with the Israeli startup scene, the 2018 CIOmove event invites the community to Tel Aviv.
Taking place between April 27 and May 1 CIOs will get three full days of insight into the Israeli technology scene and ample opportunities to network with CIOs peers from across Europe. The trip includes visits to the innovation centres of Accenture, CA, Checkpoint, Checkmarx, Dell, IBM, Skybox, Telekom and Wix.
Israel has carved out a deserved reputation as a leader in cybersecurity and amongst the organisations speaking at CIO Move are Team 8, the CSO of pharmaceutical firm Teva.
CIOmove is the brainchild of Horst Ellermann, Germany’s leading CIO editor. Ellermann has been writing for and producing events for the European CIO community since 2001. Ellermann describes this year’s visit to Israel as “the innovation and security tour”. The annual CIOmove event brings together CIOs from across Europe as well as South America, Africa and Australia. As well as visits and presentations, the event moves, hence the name, between locations. During the transit groups come together to jointly discuss and work through topics pertinent to them and their organisations.
Previous CIOmove tours have visited Germany, Switzerland, UK, France and Spain.
