Francesco De Marchis joins Ten Lifestyle Group

Lifestyle and luxury travel membership service provider Ten Lifestyle Group has recruited Francesco de Marchis as its first global Chief Technology Officer (CTO).  The London headquartered business, which floated on the AIM market in 2017, offers a subscription model and works with high net worth clients such as bankers Coutts.

Travel industry technology expert de Marchis will join the Ten Lifestyle Group in September and the CTO will be at the forefront of expanding the digital platforms offered by Ten Lifestyle Group. As CTO he will be increasing the customer facing technology to ensure it has improved functionality, customisation and personalisation, the business said in a statement.

As CTO de Marchis will report to the CEO and the organisation said he will be working closely with the CPO Sally Crimes.

De Marchis’ last two business technology leadership roles have been in the travel sector, he is currently CTO of Jac Travel which manages hotel room inventory for group booking travel operators. He joined the London headquartered business in April 2017 and was a keynote presenter at the 2017 Innovation Leadership Summit, the largest CIO conference in the UK, produced by the Horizon CIO Podcast.

Prior to joining Jac Travel de Marchis was CTO with Gatwick based Low Cost Travel and led one of the most ambitious technology transformations the tour operator had been through. De Marchis also has online retail experience having been CTO for Play.com and has held vendors side roles.

At Jac Travel de Marchis used grid computing to extend the life of legacy technology whilst improving the speed and services Jac was able to offer its customer base.  As de Marchis explains in a forthcoming Horizon CIO Podcast, this business model removed the need to throw away tried and tested methods, but instead to supercharge heritage technology for increased performance.
