What are CEOs looking for in a new CIO when they demand a business technology leader is customer centric? CIO and CTO search expert Kersty Bletso will reveal what CEOs demand of their new CIOs at the Horizon Business Innovation Developing a winning customer strategy micro-summit on November 22, 2017.
Bletso has been recruiting CIOs since 2008 and has placed business technology leaders into major financial services, professional services, energy, utilities and insurance companies in her career. CIO community editor and host of the Horizon Business Innovation CIO podcast Mark Chillingworth will discuss on stage with Bletso the new skills that CEOs demand of CIOs as technology disrupts existing economic models.
“CEOs are looking for new competencies for digital leadership,” Bletso says. The search executive will discuss not only the technological that CEOs are looking for, but also political, stakeholder management, emotional intelligence and previous experiences that may be crucial for a CIO to lead a customer strategy.
Stakeholder engagement is crucial, so many CEOs are frightened of a CIO coming in and just talking technology,” Bletso told the Horizon CIO podcast on the changing shape of the search market earlier this year. Diversity is likely to feature as a topic of this debate and as has been seen in recent years, women CIOs have become more prominent in organisations where technology and the customer relationship are integral, such as retail, tourism and the media.
Bletso recently joined Savannah Group alongside Cathy Holley having had major roles in technology search for BIE Executive and Harvey Nash.
The Horizon Business Innovation Developing a winning customer strategy micro-summit on November 22, 2017 takes place at The London Edition and will also feature peer presentations and technology insight from partners K2.
